Garage Safety At Christmas
Although we are usually cautious when it comes to locking up the house, sometimes we don’t think about the garage door when double checking the security. Unfortunately during the festive season, there is more likely to be a break in, as there are more opportunities to get expensive items. One thing to consider is where the remote is kept. An electric garage door will usually have a remote, so keeping it safe and hidden away is the best thing to do. Keeping it inside the house, rather than inside your car will likely reduce the chances of theft, as there is less chance of them accessing the garage. Your garage windows should also be covered up to deter trespassers peering through and being tempted to break in to steal any valuables that may be in there. You should also ensure the garage door is closed properly, as sometimes these doors will be left open for a while whilst you’re going to and fro, giving passer bys the opportunity to sneak a peek inside. You should shut it even when you’re home, to be on the safe side. The door inside the garage that links it to the house should be locked at all times, to stop them getting into the property itself.
A strong garage door can deter intruders and the more secure the better. There are several kinds of garage doors that will protect your home and keep it safe this Christmas. Call for more information on Garage Doors and Electric Gates in Maidenhead.
