How Beneficial Are GRP Doors?
When looking at options for your garage door, you would probably consider timber or steel, due to the durability and strength they offer. However, choosing GRP (Glass reinforced polyester) as a material is highly favoured, due to it being a very durable choice itself. These doors compose of several elements which creates a solid material, therefore giving your security a boost, particularly if your garage is attached to the house. An issue with a steel door, is the potential to eventually corrode or rust. GRP doors do not have this vulnerability, which means if you happen to live near the sea (therefore being affected by salt) then your door won't be as affected. Salt can damage steel doors, with the risk of reducing their longevity.
GRP doors have a range of styles from a more modern, sophisticated glossy look, to a 'wood' look (rather than getting real timber) such as wood-grain. This means you can get something visually pleasing as well as practical. GRP doors do not need as much maintenance due to the lack of issues it has. For instance, it won't rust (like steel) or shrink like timber could potentially do. Therefore, it does not need as much attention, particularly as it can also withstand damage that would leave a mark on other doors. Call us for all GRP doors and Garage Doors in Ascot and Wokingham.
